COCISD has substitute positions available in the following areas:
In order to be considered for a substitute position, an online application must be completed with authorization for a criminal history background check. A previous arrest does not automatically prevent someone from being hired. Circumstances, the nature of the offense, and the amount of time passed since the offense occurred are taken into consideration.To apply, visit our Employment/Job Postings site to find the position that interests you.Note: In accordance with state legislation SB9 Fingerprinting, all substitutes must be fingerprinted through TEA before they begin employment in a Texas school district. If you have already been fingerprinted by another school district, you are not required to be fingerprinted again. If you have not been fingerprinted by a school district, you will receive fingerprinting instructions after your application has been processed.

New Substitute Teachers
If you are interested in becoming a substitute teacher, in addition to the training, you will need to complete the online application for Substitute Teacher HERE. (Be sure to include a current email address. This is how you will be contacted). Bring the following documents to the training:
- A copy of your driver's license and social security card.
- A copy of your proof of education such as a GED, High School diploma, or college transcripts.
- A voided check to arrange direct deposit of your paychecks.
