COCISD Employee Benefits & Insurance Plans


  • COCISD offers employees a variety of benefits. Medical insurance is offered through the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) ActiveCare plan. The district and the state contributes $351 a month toward the TRS medical insurance. The district also provides each employee a free $20,000 life insurance policy. Open enrollment takes place each year in August. Plan coverage runs from September 1st through August 31st. The COCISD Employee Benefits plan is administered through First Financial Group of America. In addition to other benefits, all COCISD employees enjoy free lunch served at any of the campus cafeterias during regular lunch service. Free lunch does not include beverages, extra servings, snacks or other miscellaneous items.
