Mr. Paul Farr

Hello and Welcome to the World of Law Enforcement.  I was born and raised along the Coastal Bend of Texas.  I attended a very small school with only 32 in my graduating class.  When I started my junior year of high school, I knew what I wanted to do and joined the Army after I graduated.  I spent 25 years in the United States Army both on Active Duty and in the National Guard.  While on Active Duty, I was stationed in Hanua, West Germany, Ft. Campbell, KY, Baumholder, Germany, and finally at Ft. Benning, GA.  While in the National Guard, I served in the Virginia National Guard, Missouri National Guard, and Texas National Guard.  My 25 years in the Army left me with a great appreciation of this Great Nation of Ours.  I saw action during Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).

When I left the Army, I decided a career in Law Enforcement would be the best for me and my family.  I worked for some small agencies in Missouri before being hired by the Dallas Police Department.  I served the bulk of my time in Patrol, but I also served in the Violent Crime Task Force, Narcotics Uniformed Knock and Talk Squad, and in an undercover capacity.  In the last five years with DPD, I was an Academy Instructor specializing in Trauma Affected Veterans, PTSD, and Suicide.  In July 2022, I decided to retire from the Dallas Police Department to pursue a career in teaching Law Enforcement in a high school setting.  I was fortunate enough to be hired by COCISD and I am extremely excited about bringing real-world Law Enforcement experience to the students of Coldspring-Oakhurst High School.

I'm happily married with three children and four grandchildren.  In my spare time I like to spend time outdoors with my youngest son Hunter and, once I am able to, continue my annual visit to Germany.

Take Care & Be Safe,

Mr. Paul Farr
