COVID-19 Close Contact Notification: Dates of Return to Campus
Your child has been identified as having been in close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19. Dates of contact: Feb. 8 & 9.
In accordance with CDC and state health department guidelines, your child will need to be quarantined at home until one of the following two options has been met:
- 14 days after the last close contact have passed, as long as they do not have symptoms. Return Date: 2/24/21
- 10 days after the last close contact have passed, as long as they do not have symptoms and continue to monitor for symptoms through the 14th day after exposure. Return Date: 2/22/21
*If individuals return to school from shorter than 14 day stay-at-home windows, they should regularly monitor themselves for symptoms to ensure they remain symptom-free, and take appropriate precautions (e.g., consistent and proper mask usage, social distancing) for the duration of the 14-day incubation period.
Your child will switch to remote online learning at home until the end of the quarantine period. He or she will need to log into each class, each school day, in order to complete their classwork and to be counted present for attendance. If students do not report back to campus on the specified date, they will be counted absent until their return.
If your child has any problems with internet connectivity or their electronic device, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
To view guidelines and expectations for remote online learning and for help with logging in or with the online learning platforms, go to cocisd.org > Online Learning. Remote learning instructions are also attached to this email.
