Your child has been identified as having been in close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19. The date of exposure was Monday, May 3. You will also have received this notification via phone call and email, including the name of your child.
In accordance with CDC and state health department guidelines, your child will need to be quarantined at home until one of the following three options has been met:
- 7 days after the last close contact have passed, if they have gotten a negative COVID-19 test result that was taken at least 5 days after the exposure. If this option is chosen, your child must be cleared by the campus clinic before returning to campus. Return Date: 5/10/21
- 10 days after the last close contact have passed, as long as they do not have symptoms and continue to monitor for symptoms through the 14th day after exposure. Return Date: 5/13/21
- 14 days after the last close contact have passed, as long as they do not have symptoms. Return Date: 5/17/21
If individuals return to school from shorter than 14 day stay-at-home windows, they should regularly monitor themselves for symptoms to ensure they remain symptom-free, and take appropriate precautions (e.g., consistent and proper mask usage, social distancing) for the duration of the 14-day incubation period.
Your child will switch to remote online learning at home until the end of the quarantine period. He or she will need to log into each class, each school day, in order to complete their classwork and to be counted present for attendance. If students do not report back to campus on the specified return date, they will be counted absent until their return.
If your child has any problems with their internet connection or computer, send an email to email@example.com.
