MSgt. David Williams III

Master Sergeant Williams is the NCOIC of Base Honor Guard at Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base, Houston, Texas with the 147th Attack Wing. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He relocated to Houston in 2001, where he currently resides with his boys.

 

Master Sergeant David Williams III began his military career in March of 1998 with the United States Army. He attended basic training in Fort Jackson, SC and went to Fort Lee, VA. for Advanced Individual Training as a Food Service Specialist. He completed active duty tour with the United States Army in March 2001.  

 

 MSgt Williams joined the Texas Air National Guard in April 2001 and became a member of the 147th Services Flight. After 9/11, he was activated for OPERATION NOBLE EAGLE from January 2012- September 2012 to help with food operations in support of FEMA, Coast Guard, Red Cross, Texas National Guard, and civilian affiliates. During this time, TSgt Williams helped with breakfast and lunch preparation for 400 personnel. In February 2003, TSgt Williams was deployed to Al Jaber, Kuwait for OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. While deployed MSgt Williams helped watch over TNC (Third National Country), became a storeroom specialist and cook on flight line for 8000 U.S. Marines, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, British Royal, Australians Air Force personnel.

 

While stationed at Ul Udeid AFB from January 2017 – July 2017, MSgt Williams directed the largest morale building program in the Air Force, with a budget in excess of $4.9MM. MSgt Williams also controlled $20MM worth of assets and collaborated on the development of policies and procedures for Air Expedition Wing. MSgt Williams tracked and analyzed 354K transactions, identified violations, and reinforced standards at Al Udeid AFB. MSgt Williams successfully implemented and executed 918 Coalition Activity Center events; coordinated procurement requirements, budgeting, activities, and prizes for 76,000 patrons each month. Responsible for the enhancement of the Learning Recreation Center, serving 52K patrons and overseeing 19K items, identified four new reading initiatives, and supervised the network realignment

 

MSgt Williams became Storeroom Manager in 2004, responsible for all storeroom operations and training of military personnel in storerooms under my guidance. In October 2005 MSgt Williams left the 147th Base Honor Guard as a full-time member, but is still active on UTA weekends. MSgt Williams became the Dining Hall Operations Manager in March 2006, overseeing storeroom, shift leader, and accountant procedures for the 147th RW Dining Hall. MSgt Williams is currently the Dining Hall Superintendent for the147th RW.

 

 MSgt Williams joined the Base Honor Guard in September 2002 as a full-time member conducting 300+ military funeral honors in the Houston area. MSgt Williams was selected as the full time NCOIC in November of 2010 for the 147th Base Honor Guard. MSgt Williams helped San Antonio Joint Base Honor Guard conduct over 1000 military funerals (veterans, retirees, and active duty members). MSgt Williams was a member of the Joint Honor Guard for the Super Bowl in 2004 located in Houston, Tx.
