Welcome to the Transportation Department
One Stop Policy
The COCISD Transportation Department requires each student to be assigned to ONE bus route to and from their residence or assigned bus route. Students may only ride the bus route they are assigned. Route changes are limited to one per year or in the event the student has moved to a new location. Any request for a route change must be made in writing and submitted to the Transportation Department in person or via email to transportation@cocisd.org.
Emergency Transportation Changes
If there is an emergency and a child must be picked up early or picked up in person instead of riding the bus, the request must be made via email from an email address on file with the district and received no later than 2 p.m. on the day of the change. The email should be sent to the student's campus office: James Street Elementary - JSE-Attendance@cocisd.org; Coldspring Intermediate - cis@cocisd.org, Lincoln Junior High - ljh@cocisd.org and Coldspring-Oakhurst High School - cohs@cocisd.org.
Hop on the bus and ride with us!
COCISD provides transportation that allows students to enjoy safe, comfortable accommodations to and from school, sporting events and field trips throughout the year. Our transportation department consists of mechanics, drivers and other dedicated personnel who take pride in their work and work hard to ensure students, faculty and staff are provided with the best maintained fleet of buses and other district vehicles possible. With over 400 square miles in the district to cover, COCISD bus drivers understand the importance of timely schedules, safety and friendliness*
*Transportation is a privilege, not a right. While riding the bus, all students are required to maintain behavioral standards established in the COCISD Student Code of Conduct and the Transportation & Bus Rider Handbook. Failure to comply with these standards will result in disciplinary actions in accordance with the Transportation & Bus Rider Handbook and the COCISD Student Code of Conduct Discipline Management Chart and may result in losing the privilege of school district-provided transportation.
