What is the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA)?
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is legislation that was passed by Congress in 2001. It defines harmful and inappropriate use of Internet resources by students and provides minimum guidelines for schools to follow in protecting students while they are online. What is the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is legislation that was passed by Congress in 1998. It imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children under 13 years of age, and on operators of other websites or online services that have actual knowledge that the are collecting personal information online from a child under 13 years of age.
