What is an endorsement?
The State of Texas offers 5 Endorsements at the high school level:
- Business & Industry
- Public Service
- Arts & Humanities
- STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)
- Multi-disciplinary
To earn an endorsement, students must earn 4 credits within the selected endorsement title. The credits consist of related courses that are grouped together by interest, skill set or discipline. The aligned courses provide students with in-depth knowledge of a specific subject area. At the end of 8th grade, students will select an endorsement that aligns with their interest and post-secondary goals.
