COCISD Bond 2026

After two years of planning,  research, and community input,  the Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD  Board of Trustees has called for a $50 million bond election. The bond will consist of a single proposition to support major district-wide campus improvements and provide a better learning  environment for all students:

  •  Construction of a new Coldspring Intermediate Campus
  • Transform the current Intermediate School into the new James Street Elementary School
  • Renovations/Upgrades to the Lincoln Junior High campus
  • District-wide improvements
  • Purchase of School Buses

Coldspring Intermediate Campus

  • New construction to convert Jones Education Complex to Coldspring Intermediate
  • 3rd - 6th Grade Classrooms Construction
  • P.E. Gym and Seating Area (less than 1,000)

Lincoln Junior High Campus

  • Interior classroom restoration

  • Existing Intermediate to serve Pre-K - 2nd Grade Students (Existing James Street Elementary will no longer be used by students.)

  • Pre-K Classroom Additions
  • New Entry and Sidewalk Canopy
  • Playground Equipment Improvements

 

 

Co-Curricular Facility Improvements

  • New Theatrical Curtains at all campuses
  • New sports flooring, lighting, and telescoping bleachers at LJH Gym; repaint and update locker rooms
  • Replace flooring in COHS gyms, lobby, locker rooms, and dressing rooms
  • Enclose louver openings and upgrade lighting in COHS main & auxiliary gyms
  • Replace bleachers in COHS gyms, baseball field, and softball field
  • Construct two new tennis courts at COHS
  • Add sidewalks, plus storage and dressing facilities for baseball & softball programs

District-Wide Improvements

  • Enhanced Lighting and fencing for safety
  • Interior Door and Finish Upgrades
  • Restroom Renovations
  • New Classroom furniture
  • Six New School Buses

Bond Roadshow

COCISD will be hosting a series of Bond Roadshow presentations across San Jacinto County to share detailed information about the Bond 2026 proposal. These meetings will provide an overview of the plans, answer questions, and give community members the opportunity to learn more about the potential impact on our schools and community.
