Distance & Online Learning

Introduction
Distance and Online Education provides students access to information and resources that might not otherwise be available to students in a rural environment.  Additionally, distance and online education resources gives students flexibility in choosing course offerings, opportunities to communicate and collaborate with other students and increase cultural awareness, and  an alternative learning environment to the traditional classroom.

Distance Learning/Distance Education
Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD utilizes Distance Learning resources provided through our collaborative partnership with the ESC VI Service Center, located in Huntsville, Texas, along with additional content providers and partnerships to provide our students these additional learning opportunities.  From concurrent college courses to virtual field trips, distance learning technologies provide our students with more knowledge of the world around them, and foster important communication and collaboration skills.

Online Learning/Online Education
In addition to distance learning resources, many Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD teachers use various Online Learning resources to provide students with 24/7 access to classroom content and communications tools.  With tools like Google Classroom, Moodle, Edmodo, and the Texas Gateway Project, our students construct new knowledge in a safe, secure online "social learning" environment.
