COCISD has substitute positions available in the following areas:
- Teachers/Instructional Aides
- Child Nutrition
In order to be considered for a position, an online application must be completed with authorization for a criminal history background check. A previous arrest does not automatically prevent someone from being hired. Circumstances, the nature of the offense, and the amount of time passed since the offense occurred are taken into consideration. To apply, visit our Employment/Job Postings site to find the position that interests you.
New substitute teachers should attend the COCISD Substitute Teacher Training session, held twice a year. The next training is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Jones Educational Complex located at 125 FM 1514 in Coldspring. Refreshments will be provided.
Contact HR Coordinator Cassie Gregory for more information at 936-653-1138, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Note: In accordance with state legislation SB9 Fingerprinting, all substitutes must be fingerprinted through TEA before they begin employment in a Texas school district. If you have already been fingerprinted by another school district, you are not required to be fingerprinted again. If you have not been fingerprinted by a school district, you will receive fingerprinting instructions after your application has been processed.
COCISD is an equal opportunity employer. Applicants for all positions are considered without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, or any other legally protected status.
Attention Substitute Teachers: AESOP has been replaced with a new system called WillSub.
WillSub has many of the same features and is very user-friendly. You will need a valid email address to receive information on willSub, so please make sure the one we have on file for you is current. Click the links below for more information.
