COCISD Employee Benefits
COCISD offers employees a variety of benefits. Medical insurance is offered through the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) ActiveCare. The district and the state contributes $351 a month toward the TRS medical insurance. The district also provides each employee a free $20,000 life insurance policy. Open enrollment takes place each year in August. Plan coverages run from September 1st through August 31st. The COCISD Employee Benefits plan is administered through First Financial Group of America. In addition, all COCISD employees enjoy free lunch served at any of the campus cafeterias during regular lunch service. Free lunch does not include beverages, extra servings, snacks or other miscellaneous items.
