LJH 8th graders enjoyed a recent tour of the University of Houston. Students saw what dorm life is like and ate in the Cougar Woods Dining Hall among college students.
“They learned about the various colleges within UH, how to get accepted, SAT and ACT scores and admissions—all things they need to start thinking about now,” said Counselor Aimie Patrick. "Upon our return, a young man told me he's seen enough and will be committing to UofH! He said he will start looking into those scholarship (the guide) spoke about next year when he starts high school."
Patrick added. "Our hope here at LJH is to instill in students that there are many options after school and many ways to get there. We are creating opportunities here at LJH!"
