Welcome Back!

Welcome Back for the 2024-25 School Year!

Greetings Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD Students, Families, and Community,

With tremendous excitement, I warmly welcome everyone back for the 2024-2025 school year! We hope you had a wonderful summer break and are reenergized and ready to embark on an exhilarating school year. Firstly, I would like to thank you for your flexibility and support throughout last school year as we successfully transitioned to a 4-day instructional week and endured several bouts with severe weather. Most importantly, we improved student outcomes, strengthened school-family-community partnerships, and cultivated our students' social and emotional growth. We aim to keep this momentum going this year!

Moreover, we excitedly anticipate having students back on campus livening the hallways and filling our classrooms with their creative minds and unyielding enthusiasm. We also look forward to establishing, building upon, and sustaining productive partnerships with each of you to ensure that our students are provided with a rich academic program that actively engages them in the learning process, challenges their intellect, and nurtures their development to ensure that they acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in subsequent grade level courses, post-secondary settings, and beyond. Please note that our students' and staff's
health and safety is always our utmost priority.

In Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD, we have enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who are committed to developing the individual strengths and gifts of students by providing them with captivating learning experiences, implementing research-based instructional practices that foster critical thinking, and using student performance data to ensure the continuation of their academic growth & progress through identifying and targeting areas of improvement. Our mission is to help every student feel welcome, safe, connected, and a part of the Coldspring- Oakhurst CISD community.

Our goal is to ensure that we keep the lines of communication open with you by posting all pertinent information on the district and campus websites at www.cocisd.org and utilizing all other district mediums to send out pertinent school-related information via phone callouts, email, and text messaging. We hope that you find our website useful and informative. Additionally, we have a Facebook account @COCISD that we aim to use to send out quick announcements and updates regarding district/campus events and information.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns via email at btaulton@cocisd.org or 936.653.1115. It is a true honor and a privilege to serve as your superintendent of schools. We have the best teachers in San Jacinto County, outstanding students, and most importantly, a loving and supportive school community! What a powerful combination! Without further ado...I would like to welcome all of our new and returning students to Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD for another extraordinary school year! See you soon! Let’s have another incredible school year! #UnitedTrojansRise #WEARECOCISD
