COCISD is committed to providing a quality education to ALL students. We will accomplish this by the continual improvement of our curriculum and instructional processes. We have vertically aligned our core departments in grades K – 12, from the top down, so that all teachers will have a clear understanding of our end goal and will diligently and responsibly work towards the accomplishment of that goal. We use the CSCOPE curriculum in the four core content areas – English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. At the heart of the CSCOPE process is a guaranteed & viable curriculum. Content area experts ensure quality through a process of continual review. The key components of the CSCOPE curriculum are:
• A K-12 systemic model in the four core content areas
• Common language, structure, and process for curriculum delivery
• Aligned written, taught, and tested curriculum
• Clarified and specified TEKS/TAKS expectations assembled in a vertical alignment format
• Customizable instructional plans that allow district resources to be integrated into the system
The online curriculum is easy to navigate and can be accessed by teachers, administrators, and key stakeholders 24/7.
CSCOPE lessons and activities are based on the application and analysis levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and require higher-order thinking skills. Students taught with this curriculum will be prepared for standardized assessments such as TAKS, SAT, ACT, ASFAB, etc. and will be ready for the rigorous demands of college, technical school, armed forces, or employment after high school. It is our goal to prepare students to be competent, productive members of our society and we believe that the CSCOPE curriculum, along with other supplemental resources, will help us accomplish this goal.
